Tommaro School
Reverine, a waterfront region of 21 villages is just across the channel from the capital city of Lagos.
No running water, no electricity and no sanitation system are among the tremendous challenges these villagers face. Education stops after the primary level because junior and secondary schools do not exist and most families cannot afford to send their children across the water to schools in Lagos.
Now generous support of TNSP has led to the near completion of a 5-room schoolhouse on Tommaro Island, one of the river communities. This will be the first secondary school to be built in this Reverine area. With attention on this school building project, the ministry of education has identified this location as an area for further development of more schools. |
